Sometimes paradise is hidden just a stone`s throw away, as the small, hidden bays of the Costa Brava.
The Costa Brava in Catalonia is Spain’s magnificent “wild coast” where the Pyrenees come together with the Mediterranean Sea. It is the most beautiful coastline of the Mediterranean Sea with incredibly diverse breath-taking sceneries, desolated sandy beaches, high rocky cliffs, tiny coves with beautiful natural harbours, wildlife nature reserves and unspoiled marine parks.
The Costa Brava stretches for over 200 kilometres from the French/Spanish border town of Port Bou in the north to Blanes in the south.
Home and inspiration to the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, the Costa Brava’s “wild coast” is most spectacular around Cap de Creus. Places such as Puerto de la Selva (El Port de la Selva), Cadaques and Rosas (Roses) are very popular among yachtsmen as they offer the best and most dramatic cruising grounds of the whole Mediterranean Sea with many small bays (cala’s) forming natural harbours to anchor your yacht or boat. The Yacht Harbour of Rosas is one of the largest marinas on the Costa Brava which can even accommodate large mega yachts.
The endless sandy beach of the bay of Rosas (Roses) stretches from Rosas to La Escala (L’Escala) encompassing the resort towns of Ampuriabrava (Empuriabrava), San Pedro Pescador (Sant Pere Pescador) and Sant Marti d’Empuries.
Famous are also the casinos of Perelada (Peralada) and Lloret de Mar, real gamblers paradise.
The Costa Brava’s picturesque and charming fishing villages of Colera, Llanca, El Port de la Selva, Port Lligat, Cadaques, San Pedro Pescador, L’Escala, Llafranc and Palafrugell are most enchanting and display some excellent sea food restaurants where you can find the best paellas and fish suquets of Spain. The anchovies of L’Escala are world famous and the bay of Montjoi hides “El Bulli” the “Best Restaurant” in the world.
The mild Mediterranean climate with year round sunshine and very low humidity level invites to evasion and relaxation. Buying a holiday home or apartment on the Costa Brava promises exceptional holiday all year round.
The Costa Brava's close location to France makes it easily accessible for Europe Countries via the excellent motorway network and its proximity to Girona's, Barcelona's and Perpignan's International Airports. The fast European railway system TGV connects now London, Brussels and Paris to Figueres in a few hours.
